A large contingent of public safety personnel – including three Nantucket Police Department cruisers, two State Police cruisers, an ambulance and a heavy rescue unit – arrived on South Water Street Sunday evening after a minor car accident allegedly led to a fight outside the building. According to a police report, West was involved in a car crash and a “disturbance” on South Water Street in front of the Dreamland Theater, which resulted in at least seven security vehicles arriving at the scene.

The Nantucket Police Department said in a report that an investigation revealed that West struck a motorcycle with his white Jeep at low speed, causing the motorcyclist to fall and sustain minor injuries. West admitted to police that he had consumed alcoholic beverages at a restaurant on the island earlier in the day and, upon returning to the station, blew a 0.16 during a breathalyzer test.
