Police are currently investigating a fight that broke out at an internet cafe in Buntong, Ipoh, which left two men injured.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said police discovered a video that went viral on the internet about the incident on Tuesday (May 28).

ACP Abang Zainal Abidin said that in the incident, two men, including the 24-year-old complainant who lodged a police complaint, and his 18-year-old friend, were injured by five armed assailants.

“The incident is believed to have occurred on Monday (May 27) around 10:15 p.m.

“The complainant and his friend were partying at the venue before they were attacked by five men armed with knives,” he said in a statement.

In the one-minute, 30-second video recording, attackers wearing motorcycle helmets entered the premises and attacked the complainant.

The applicant was seen being hit with the helmet and attempting to defend himself.

“The case is being investigated pursuant to Art. 148 of the Penal Code for riots,” he added.
