Hialeah Officer-Involved Shooting Investigation – NBC 6 South Florida

Authorities are investigating after a police officer shot and killed a man Tuesday night during a traffic stop in Hialeah.

The Hialeah Police Department says it is investigating a shooting that did not result in the death of an officer at West 12th Avenue and 29th Street.

According to police, officers stopped a stolen vehicle when a fight broke out. The officer fired his weapon, hitting the subject.

Hialeah Fire Rescue said it transported a 35-year-old man who was shot in the hands, wrists and arms to Jackson Memorial Hospital. Police said he suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the incident, which is standard practice in police shootings.
