Agra: Rani, a 38-year-old woman, tragically lost her life after she was hit by a train at Raja Ki Mandi station in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. The incident took place during a heated argument with her partner Kishor.

Trying to scare him, Rani jumped onto the railway tracks.

Within minutes, the partners began arguing about his drinking, and Rani threatened to commit suicide by jumping in front of a train.

Despite Kishore’s attempts to dismiss her threats, Rani took him to Raja Ki Mandi station. After reaching the station, they continued arguing while sitting on chairs on platform 2. Suddenly, Rani jumped on the tracks to scare Kishore.

She didn’t see the Kerala Express approaching and didn’t manage to get back to the platform in time. As she tried to escape, the train hit her and she became stuck between the train and the platform.

RPF station commander Laxman Pachauri and policemen reacted quickly, pulling Rani out from under the train and taking her to SN Medical College. Unfortunately, she died in hospital as a result of her injuries.

Inspector Samar Bahadur of the GRP cantonment said Rani’s partner Kishore revealed that she had a checkered past, including the death of her ex-husband Dharmendra due to excessive drinking. Rani was in a relationship with Kishore for over a year.

Rani’s father Vinod was informed about the accident. He told the police that Rani had three sons from her previous marriage. Two of them lived with her, the oldest lived separately.

Inspector Bahadur informed me that Rani’s body has been sent for post-mortem.

“No formal complaint has been filed so far, but further action will be taken upon receipt of the complaint,” Inspector Bahadur said.
